PREPARE A REVIEWABLE RFQ
Prepare an extrusion
request for quotation.
Use the editable checklist to collect drawing revisions, quantities, processing and inspection requirements. Then compare quotations against the same scope.

Build a complete quote comparison.
Compare the same scope across responses. An unspecified item is a question to resolve, not an included service.
| Quote line | Ask for a written definition | Keep with the order |
|---|---|---|
| Material | Alloy, temper, applicable specification and supplied condition | Agreed material designation and requested documentation |
| Tooling | Ownership, maintenance, modification, storage and future-use terms | Tooling agreement and approved section revision |
| Fabrication | Cut lengths, holes, threads, datums and edge condition | Finished-part drawing and inspection plan |
| Surface | Exposed faces, appearance sample, masking and acceptance method | Approved finish reference and agreed requirements |
| Commercial | Quantity units, currency, packing, named delivery term and exclusions | Written quotation and purchase-order acknowledgment |
| Logistics | Package dimensions, protection, documents and destination responsibilities | Agreed packing and shipment instructions |

BEYOND THE DRAWING
Packaging, shipping
and receiving checks.
Long sections, appearance surfaces and machined interfaces need packing instructions that suit the shipment. Agree protection, package limits and receiving checks while the order is being quoted.
Before shipment
- Surface protection
- Identify exposed faces, separation needs and any restrictions on adhesive films or contact materials.
- Handling & packaging
- Agree bundle or carton limits, lifting access, edge protection and package identification for the actual shipping route.
- Documents & release
- Confirm part references, drawing revision, quantity units, packing list and the documents agreed in the order. Record the destination and the named delivery term and place.
When the shipment arrives
- Record package condition and labels before unpacking.
- Check quantities and part references against the packing list.
- Inspect critical features using the agreed drawing, method and sampling plan.
- Keep finish samples and inspection records with the order. Isolate discrepancies and notify the supplier with photographs and traceable references.
Buyer planning checklist. The quotation and purchase terms must define the actual packaging, delivery, acceptance and claims process.
