PROJECT QUESTIONS
Aluminum Extrusion Purchasing FAQ
What to specify, what to confirm in a quotation, and how to send drawings. Start with the information you have; undecided technical fields can stay open.
Preparing an RFQ
Can I request a quote without selecting an alloy?
Yes. Explain the application and leave undecided technical fields open. A material recommendation needs the section, service requirements and finish expectations.
Compare alloy and temper requirements →Do you publish minimum walls or tolerances?
No verified production envelope has been established for this site. Send your section and mark critical features; any accepted limit must be confirmed against the actual part in writing.
Define critical dimensions and acceptance →Are these supplier products in stock?
The catalog contains supplier-linked references and authorized photographs. Stock, complete specifications and order availability require confirmation for the requested section.
Browse source-listed section references →Do you sell windows and doors?
The focus is aluminum extrusions, project profiles and processing requirements. Architectural catalog entries are component references, rather than finished windows, doors or installation services.
See architectural component profiles →Tooling, samples and delivery
What quantity should I put in an RFQ?
State pieces, total length or mass, plus the required cut length. Minimum order quantity is confirmed per project.
How order quantity is reviewed →How should I specify packaging and shipping?
Provide the destination, surface-protection needs, handling constraints and maximum package dimensions if known. Delivery responsibilities and inclusions need a written agreement.
Set timing and delivery requirements →Who owns a custom extrusion die?
Ownership and future-use rights must be agreed in the tooling terms. Paying a tooling charge alone does not settle maintenance, modification, storage, transfer or repeat-order rights.
Review tooling and repeat-order terms →Can I request a sample before ordering?
Ask whether a suitable reference or project sample can be supplied. Availability, charges and approval steps require confirmation.
What sample approval needs to establish →How is the lead time confirmed?
Share the required arrival date and destination. Tooling, approvals, processing, packing and transport are reviewed separately.
Separate production and delivery timing →Documents and acceptance
Can I request material and inspection documents?
Yes. Name the document type, material specification and inspection needs before quotation. Availability and the relationship to the delivered batch must be confirmed; no certification or test report is promised here.
Define the documents you need →What should be approved before production?
Record the accepted drawing revision, material, processing, finish reference and inspection criteria. If samples are agreed, define their approval scope and any accepted deviations before a written production release.
Prepare an acceptance record →Drawings and submission
Are drawings public?
No. Submitted drawings are stored privately. Downloading them requires authenticated owner access; they do not receive public file links.
Read how submitted drawings are handled →Can I use a public email address?
Yes. Provide a working email address you can be contacted at. Email format is checked; public email domains are not rejected.
Open the inquiry form →What happens if email notification is unavailable?
An inquiry is acknowledged only after database receipt. Its email notification is queued separately, so a notification failure does not delete the saved inquiry.
Understand inquiry receipt and notification →Can I retry a request if receipt is unconfirmed?
Yes. Keep the form open and retry with the same content and submission number. Identical retries do not create another inquiry; a timeout by itself does not confirm whether the first request was received.
